Kylian Mbappe offered huge 10-year contract by PSG worth €1 billion amidst rumors of possible move to Real Madrid

PSG is planning to offer a mammoth €1 billion offer to French talisman Kylian Mbappe. It is for a 10-year deal and has been suggested by the Emir of Qatar himself to fend off interest from Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe joined PSG in 2018 initially on a loan deal that later amounted to a transfer fee of £180 million. He had always claimed that his dream was to play for Madrid, but their offer was less than that of PSG at the time. Since then, both parties have been involved in one of the longest sagas in football history. Madrid tried signing him every year after that.
The French striker came very close to joining the Los Blancos in 2022 as his contract with PSG was supposed to expire. However, he decided not to do it and signed a two year extension with the French Champions. He wanted to win the coveted Champions League with the team before leaving. But this year, it looks like his patience has run out after suffering two major setbacks in his career.
The first was the World Cup Final defeat to Argentina, despite his hat trick in the game. The second was his potential rival, Erling Haaland, winning the European treble with Manchester City. As a result, he has declared that he does not intend to renew his contract with the club. But he also said that he wants to stay with his current club for another season. But, the PSG chiefs have given him an ultimatum of either sign a contract with the club or leave. It remains to be seen what decision he takes.
Erling Haaland overtakes Kylian Mbappe as world’s most valuable player
After a massively successful first season at Manchester City, Erling Haaland has overtaken Kylian Mbappe as the world’s most valuable player. According to Football benchmark, Haaland is valued at €194.2 million while Mbappe is worth €181.6 million.
Haaland joined the Premier League champions in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund for €60 million. He has turned out to be the best signing of the year. He broke numerous records this season, including the most goals in a single Premier League season, the fastest player to score 30 Champions League goals, the fewest number of games required to score three hat tricks and others. Other than that, he might be the favorite to claim this year’s Ballon d’Or.
Mbappe had a successful season too. He won the Golden Boot in the FIFA World Cup and finished runners up after having one of the best individual performances in tournament history. He won Ligue 1 with PSG and was the highest goalscorer in the league. However, he had a disappointing UCL campaign, being eliminated by Bayern in the Round of 16. This might be one of the main reasons why Haaland has overtaken him on the list.
