Following Paris Saint-Germain’s underwhelming performance against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, Kylian Mbappe shared a picture of the match and received a lot of attention for his caption. The mercurial Frenchman changed the complexion of the match after coming on in the second half but to no avail.

The caption’s English translation was confusing to non-French speaking audience as it said, “All that remains to be done…Manchester United’s team is now on PSG.” Marcus Rashford also reacted to the post with a ‘fire’ emoticon. The footballing world is confused yet intrigued by the post. Qatari investors are now trying to bid on Manchester United, but could this be a hint at Mbappe moving to the Premier League next season?

Chances are that Mbappe was referring to the Emir’s reported interest in acquiring Manchester United. PSG is also owned by Qatar Sports Investment which was also formed by Sheikh Tamim back in 2005. UEFA will have to bend its rules to allow two possible opponents in its competitions to be owned by the same entity.

Manchester United’s owners have announced that they are looking into strategic options for the club, which might include selling the club, and now Qatar Investment Authority will offer for Manchester United.

After 18 years of ownership, the Glazers want to depart Manchester United. According to speculations, Qatari investors will submit a proposal by Friday and are the favorites to purchase the club. UEFA has also permitted, despite initial reservations. As to sources, the offer would come from a separate entity because of UEFA’s regulations which read, “no individual or legal entity may have control or influence over more than one club participating in a UEFA club competition.”

Manchester United’s focus will shift to the Europa League when they meet FC Barcelona on Thursday. They will also attempt to narrow the gap on Manchester City.

PSG will look to expand their lead against LOSC Lille on Sunday. PSG will have another chance to redeem themselves when they play Bayern in March.
