Real Madrid are all set to be the ‘best’ team in European football. Despite there not being a solid metric to measure how good a team is, a group of players potentially featuring Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr. & Rodrygo Goes is likely to be up there with the best. While Mbappe’s move to Madrid remains all but done, fans are excited at the prospect of the Frenchman teaming up with Toni Kroos.
The German midfielder joined the Los Blancos in 2014, and has been an indispensable element of their midfield ever since. However, many feel that the No.8 is nearing his end at the Spanish capital, as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Fans had a look at the player’s thoughts as he opened up about his future at the club.
While the midfielder stated that he’ll make a decision in a month or two, he also shared his thoughts on Kylian Mbappe joining his club.
We always want the best players at Real Madrid and he is one of them. But, I don't know his decision.Toni Kroos told TVE
While it is certain that the Paris Saint-Germain captain will not extend his contract, his move to Madrid has not been made official.
Toni Kroos’ return to the National team leaves Julian Nagelsmann in awe
Toni Kroos‘ return to the German national team was eventful to say the least. The No.8 fit right into the heart of the die Mannschaft as Germany beat France 2-0 on Sunday. His commendable performance elicited a passionate reaction from the national team boss, as he praised Kroos’ brilliance against the 2018 World Cup winners.
Unbelievable. With the ball, he's an extraordinary player. But he also got in duels. The areas he was criticized for in the past. He worked incredibly hard and was stable defensively.Julian Nagelsmann in a post-match interview
Kroos did brilliantly to find Florian Wirtz within seconds of kick-off. His quick thinking led to a marvelous shot and goal, which proved to be the quickest in his team’s history.
The midfielder had a passing success rate of 95% and completed 121 out of his 128 attempted passes. With just months to go before Germany host the 2024 European Championship, they will need Kroos at his very best if they are to go deep into the competition. With the midfielder proving to be the best addition to their midfield in recent years, his return couldn’t have come at a better time!
