The annual Kylian Mbappe saga has started again this summer. The Emir of Qatar, who owns Paris Saint Germain has given him an ultimatum. The player has an option for an additional year in his contract which he can activate. He must either activate it before training starts or leave the club. The club will then entertain offers for his sale.

The French striker joined the club in 2017 from AS Monaco initially on a loan deal made permanent next season. He has been transformed into a world-beater since joining the club. The forward has amassed 212 goals and 98 assists.

Kylian Mbappe’s dream club, since his childhood, has been Real Madrid. Childhood photos of him show him surrounded by posters of Los Blancos in his room, have made circles around the internet for ages. The Spanish team have been keeping close tabs on him since he was 11 years old. The former Monaco striker initially rejected a move to Real Madrid back in 2017 to favor a move to PSG. But ever since then, he has been linked to them every summer.

Last season was the closest he came to joining the club. His initial contract was running out with PSG. Everyone expected him to finally achieve his dream. However, he decided to stay put for two more seasons at PSG, signing a lucrative deal worth almost £1m per week along with some executive rights unheard of before.

The Spanish club will certainly look to sign their long-time target this summer. However, the deal won’t be cheap. PSG are looking for more than £200 million for the talisman. But, it is rumored that Real Madrid will only go as high as £120 million. This could also be a negotiating tactic as the club really want the player.

Other than that, many clubs will be looking to sign him this summer. English giants Manchester United who might have new owners this summer could have the resources to bring the player to their club. Newcastle United and Chelsea also have the required money. However, none of these are likely to happen.

Manchester City have ruled themselves out of the race with manager Pep Guardiola saying Kylian Mbappe only wants to join one club implying Real Madrid. Liverpool looked strong contenders at one point but it seems unlikely now as they are in the Europa League.
