Kylian Mbappe came very close to signing a free transfer agreement with Real Madrid this summer. The French superstar instead decided to sign a new contract with PSG. Kylian Mbappe allegedly requested to appear in the upcoming video game from EA Sports wearing a Madrid jersey.
Kylian Mbappe is featured on the cover of the well-known FIFA football video game series. Before deciding to devote his future to the Ligue 1 team, PSG star reportedly requested that EA Sports feature him in a Real Madrid jersey on the upcoming FIFA video game.
With his PSG contract set to expire at the end of June, Mbappe appeared to be a lock to sign with Los Blancos this summer. However, those rumours were quickly put to rest after the shocking news that he had signed a new three-year contract with PSG. The eye-watering contract, which is reportedly worth over £42 million year and includes a £ 100 million signing bonus, is said to give Mbappe much more power within the club’s hierarchy, including the ability to influence hiring decisions for managers and players.

The New York Times claims that after meeting with them in New York, he was so certain about moving to Madrid that he told EA Sports to start drafting his FIFA avatar wearing a Madrid jersey.
The Mbappe transfer issue took up a large portion of 2022, during which both teams traded insults as their displeasure with the discussions mounted. Vincent Labrune, the manager of Ligue 1, retaliated against his counterpart by mailing him a letter claiming ”disrespectful smears”.
”The fact that you publicly and repeatedly take this position against Ligue 1 on this topic and denigrate our league and our clubs is both unacceptable and manifestly false,’‘ he wrote.
”The fact that you do this in your capacity of President of the European Leagues which represents Ligue 1 – is not only conflicted a topic on which you are also vocal against others but also completely inappropriate.”
As part of his contract with the company, Mbappe shown a great lot of devotion to the company’s strategy and vision, according to a comprehensive article by EA Sports’ vice president David Jackson in the New York Times. Since 2020, he has been the primary cover hero of their FIFA game.
