La-Liga leaders Real Madrid will face third-placed Sevilla in the next league game at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday. Real Madrid moves closer to the title as they are currently 12-points ahead of the second-placed Barcelona.

Sevilla is at level terms with Barcelona on 60 points as they look to finish second in the league. Real Madrid are unbeaten against Sevilla since 2018 and the Los Blancos look to extend their record against Julen Lopetegui’s side.

Real Madrid is well ahead to win the title this season under Carlo Ancelotti, who took over the side last summer. Sevilla doesn’t have a good track record in the league as they host the mighty Los Blancos on Sunday evening. They have not registered a win in the last six head-to-head encounters against Real Madrid in the league. 

Real Madrid has won thrice in their last five matches in all competitions, only losing to Chelsea in the second leg of the UCL quarter-finals but winning on aggregate terms. On the other hand, Sevilla was knocked out of the Europa League in the round of 16 by West Ham United. Sevilla will now focus on finishing as the runners-up as they are equal in points with Barcelona.

Real Madrid has some injury issues as well as some suspension issues to deal with. Casemiro is not available to Ancelotti after he received his tenth yellow card of the season keeping him sidelined for the match.

Nacho was taken off in the Champions League match against Chelsea, and Mendy is also in doubt for the Los Blancos. However, Eder Militao could return after his suspension in the Champions League tie in the mid-week, but Marcelo is also injured. 

Eden Hazard’s presence has been a doubt for the entire period of time that he has spent in Spain. Isco was not available for the last few weeks but could well return to the starting lineup or maybe on the bench. 

Meanwhile, Sevilla has a list of injured players namely Fernando, the defensive mid-fielder, and Suso who has been suffering from an ankle injury since November. Karim Rekik and Thomas Delaney are also out of the team with injuries.

Lopetegui’s side will fight positively keeping the second spot in mind and the number of talents they acquire. Real Madrid will look to continue their momentum going after a scintillating battle in the UCL match.
