Besides being one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Football Club Barcelona have built up a reputation for posting quirky challenging, and laughable content on social media. Their most recent video video featured Wunderkind and Barca’s biggest talent of 2024 – Lamine Yamal. While fans expected a football challenge or interactive session with the 16-year-old, Barcelona’s content team had other plans.

Yamal was soon made to build a chair! Yes, the promising winger put on construction gear & goggles and quickly to work. Alongside him were Inigo Martìnez and Vitor Roque taking part in the ‘challenge’ as well. All three players quickly figured out the task, with Yamal being the first to lock in. The contents of the box featured a disassembled chair from the Spotify Camp Nou, which the players were asked to set up.

Perfect, isn't it?!

While neither Yamal nor the Barcà content team would’ve expected such a response to the video, rival fans have had a field day with the clip. From trolls to laughable comments and reactions, the clip has quickly gone viral.

Barcelona being in a financial bottleneck is no secret. Fans were quick to find meaning in the video in question, with one fan mocking the management for their desperate decision.

A fan opined that Barca are so broke that they now have to force players to make chairs for the new stadium. Others quickly mentioned how the club is selling patches of grass and old chairs from Camp Nou. Barcà fans wouldn’t remain silent either, as a witty fan hit back at their biggest trials. According to him, Yamal was building a permanent seat for new Real Madrid signing Arda Guler. The €20 million (plus add-ons) player has only made 4 appearances this season.

Some made fun of Barca, accusing them of child labor and not paying their players on time. Others were surprised how a club like Barca could fall off so significantly that they make their players build chairs for social media interactions. A fan couldn’t help but laugh at how Barcelona were linked to Kylian Mbappe while this was the reality at the club. Barcelona have dropped to third in the league and are now 8 points behind Real Madrid.
