Leaked Document labels Georgina Rodriguez a ‘slave’ of Cristiano Ronaldo under Saudi laws

A document had been circulating around the internet in January, labelling Georgina Rodriguez to be Cristiano Ronaldo‘s “slave”. The couple had received special permission from the Saudi government to live together, an act that is forbidden in the State’s laws, which is closely tied to the Islamic religion.

The document, translated by Twitter users, refer to Georgina as the Al-Nassr forward’s “slave”. Women in Saudi Arabia do not have independence or autonomy, and the translation labelled the Spanish influencer to be Ronaldo’s property.

The Arabic version of CNN was questioned by the Saudi authorities, who preferred to remain silent on the topic. However, CNN pointed out that it is false, as several Saudi social media users also indicated. Since the authorities are yet to comment, there is no way of confirming or denying these rumours.

There have also been reports of the Spaniard being labelled Ronaldo’s “right hand”. These rumours have risen due to the fact that the couple is not officially married. Despite these allegations, Georgina has referred to Saudi Arabia as “heaven on earth” and that she feels very safe and comfortable in the Middle East.

Odion Ighalo of Al-Hilal seemed to mock Cristiano Ronaldo after Al-Hilal’s win over Al-Nassr. The Portuguese’s side have now dropped points in two games consecutively, and seem to be out of the title race. The Faris Najd loss means that Al-Ittihad keep their three-point lead at the top of the table, whilst having played a game less.

Ighalo celebrated with Lionel Messi’s signature after scoring. The Nigerian slid on his knees before pointing to the sky with both hands. This celebration was also performed by Messi in the World Cup, and is the Argentine’s staple after scoring a goal.

Ighalo’s two goals crushed Al-Nassr’s title dreams. The Faris Najd will now have to focus on the King Cup of Champions to look for silverware. The Saudi side will need Cristiano Ronaldo firing on all cylinders if they wish to defeat Al-Wehdah and progress through to the Semi-Finals.
