From initially struggling to find his rhythm to eventually scoring in the match, Leandro Trossard emerged as a hidden weapon for the Gunners. The Belgian winger was brought into action just 23 minutes into the first half. Gabriel Martinelli‘s hamstring issue led the way to his involvement. Trossard continued being a threat at Goodison Park and eventually scored the match-winner for Arsenal with a stunning striker in the 69th minute.
He was set-up by Arsenal‘s wonderkid, Bukayo Saka. It was finally since 2017 that the Londoners managed to win away at Everton. Speaking about everyone’s mood in the post-match interview, Trossard said, “Everyone is happy, of course. We really wanted to take the three points away from here, and we did. We’re really pleased about that.”
He also addressed the difficulties of coming on early while crediting the team’s willpower to constantly maintain an attacking threat. Trossard specifically mentioned his goal, saying, “The moment I saw [Bukayo] getting the ball, I knew I had to get it. He laid it off really well for me, and I had to hit it first touch, and it went in nicely!”
Furthermore, when he was asked if he was excited about his first-ever Champions League game on Wednesday Trossard said that he eagerly anticipates his Champions League debut against PSV Eindhoven next week.“I am really excited, to be honest. “It’s my first game in the Champions League as well, so to do it with Arsenal is a pleasure,” he said.
Meanwhile, the win against Everton secured crucial points for Arsenal, with Manchester City, Liverpool, and Tottenham leading the early league competition. It was their fourth victory of the season.
Piers Morgan claims Mikel Arteta humiliated Arsenal keeper
Prominent Arsenal supporter and broadcaster Piers Morgan has strongly criticized Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. The reaction comes in light of the “humiliation” of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale by leaving him out of the starting lineup in the recent victory over Everton. Instead, loanee David Raya was chosen as the starting goalkeeper. He achieved a clean sheet as Arsenal secured their fourth win of the season.
Morgan voiced his disagreement on social media. He questioned the rationale behind dropping Ramsdale, who had been a consistent performer for the team. In response to the criticism, Arteta defended his decision by highlighting the quality of both Ramsdale and Raya. He indicated that both goalkeepers would have significant playing time during the season.
Arteta emphasized his willingness to make tactical choices, even if they appear unconventional, to maximize the team’s performance. Morgan’s comments reflect the passionate opinions of Arsenal fans. The goalkeeper situation is expected to remain a subject of debate among supporters throughout the season, with Arteta’s squad management and bold decisions under the spotlight.
