“Learning to forgive is wise,” Shakira drops cryptic message for Gerard Pique in new song ‘Acrostico’

Shakira premieres “Acrostic”, the song with her children Milan and Sasha that depicts the new stage in the singer’s life after leaving Barcelona. Although the new song is a tender ballad that pays recognition to her children there is no shortage of references to her ex.

Shakira said in the song, “You taught me that love is not a scam and that when it’s real it doesn’t end” which explains that they (Shakira and Piqué) do love each other with their children. True love without deception is a clear reference to Gerard Piqué. She also mentioned how badly her life has treated her, the wounds she drags from her, and the damage that has been done to her heart.

The Colombian singer also said in the song, “I tried so that you don’t see me cry, that you don’t see my fragility, but things are not always as we dream them.”, “We only broke one plate, not all the dishes, and although I don’t know how to turn the other cheek, learning to forgive is wise.”, “If things are damaged, they are not thrown away, they are repaired, problems are faced and faced.”

After four successful lyrics against Piqué, including the world hit with Bizarrap, this new slower rhythm has gone around the world due to the interest generated by the performance of her children. Right now the YouTube video has more than 20 million views.

Shakira’s song was released on May 11 and has a touching message to her kids Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8. The track came out just in time for International Mother’s Day, and it expresses her love for her two boys. Antonela Roccuzzo has responded to the song posted on the Colombian singer’s Instagram account.  Lionel Messi’s wife posted three emojis of a smiley face holding back tears.

“Acrostic” is the pop star’s second song to be released this year following ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’ which broke several Latin streaming records. Roccuzzo reacted to that song, too, by similarly posting fire emojis in the comments. The pair were together for 11 years. The Colombian has since left Catalonia and moved to Miami while Pique has remained in Barcelona.

Antonela Roccuzzo knows all about motherhood as she has three children with Lionel Messi – Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 5. Pique has since moved on to his new partner Clara Chia Marti while the Colombian seemingly remains single.
