“One hell of a manager!” — Minority owner LeBron James extends gratitude to Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool SUCCESS amid departure announcement

Jurgen Klopp dropped a bombshell when he announced he would be leaving Liverpool by the end of the season. Fans were emotional, as the German’s 9-year stint at the club was coming to an end. He won every trophy available to him and formed an iconic rivalry with Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola

While fans celebrated his time at the club and thanked him for his services, a minor shareholder of the club took to X (Formerly Twitter), to thank Klopp. Basketball icon, LeBron James, wrote a short note for the German, saying his time at the club would never be forgotten and added that he’ll never walk alone.

LeBron James’s short note on Jurgen Klopp’s departure

James became a minority owner of Liverpool in 2011 after a deal with Fenway Sports Group. Founded by John W Henry and Tom Werner, FSG has the right to be the sole global marketer for LeBron James. In return, he was granted a minority stake in the group. He is also the minority owner of iconic teams like the Boston Red Sox and owns cable television networks as well.

Jurgen Klopp’s time at Liverpool 

Jurgen Klopp joined Liverpool on 8th October 2015, after Brendan Rodgers was sacked. Joining the team in crisis, he turned it around within a few seasons.  In his first season, he managed to reach the League Cup finals and Europa League finals. The next season Klopp got Liverpool to the Champions League, finishing 4th. In 2018, they reached the Champions League Finals but lost to Real Madrid.

Liverpool finally challenged for the league in 2018/19, where they missed out on the title by just one point. Fortunately, Klopp won his first trophy for the Reds as they beat Tottenham Hotspurs in the Champions  League final. 

In their next season, Liverpool dominated, winning their first League title in 30 years, along with the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. The 2020-21 season was quieter, with no trophies and a third-place finish. In 2021/22, they narrowly missed the title to Manchester City by a point, and despite losing to Real Madrid in the Champions League finals, they secured victories in the FA Cup and League Cup.

In the 2022/23 season, Liverpool had a drop in form, missing out on Champions League football, but he learned from his mistakes and brought Liverpool to the top of the table as of now. Along with that, Liverpool are in the League Cup finals and favorites in the FA Cup and Europa League.
