Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi

Luis Suarez has publicly praised Lionel Messi for his outstanding performance in the World Cup semi-final. Messi found the net from a penalty kick and provided a fantastic assist for Julian Alvarez’s second goal of the match, sending Argentina to the World Cup final. They will be competing against the winner of the France versus Morocco Semifinals in the last game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Following the match, some of the most renowned names in football expressed admiration for Messi, one victory away from gaining the world championship title that has eluded him throughout his storied career. His long-time friend Suarez, whom he has grown to be close to both on and off the field due to their time at Barcelona, was one of the first to offer his congratulations to the Argentinian talisman.

“You don’t get tired of showing that you are the best in the world, that everyone stands up to applaud what this boy [Messi] gives to football. Impressive my friend.” the Uruguay striker wrote on Instagram after the game.

Lionel Messi’s extraordinary display in the World Cup Semi-Final enabled Argentina to progress to the Final

Lionel Messi is now on the brink of achieving legendary status in the world of football after propelling Argentina to the 2022 FIFA World Cup final with a spectacular performance against Croatia. After netting from the spot to become Argentina’s all-time record goalscorer in World Cup history, Messi produced a trademark sprint from the halfway line, culminating in Julian Alvarez scoring the third goal for the Albiceleste.

Alvarez scored his second goal of the evening with a solo effort to give Argentina a 2-0 lead in the first half. Messi received the ball a little past the midfield line on the right, and he ran with it toward the penalty area, with Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol in pursuit. Messi could not shake off the young defender, but he quickly changed direction and spun away from the goal, causing Gvardiol to lose his footing.

Messi sprinted down the sideline and fed a pass to Julian Alvarez, who could put the ball into the net for Argentina’s third goal. The South American team has now advanced to their second World Cup Final with Messi leading the way, having been the runners-up in 2014 against Germany.
