Brazilian defender Marcelo was sacked from Lyon after he was caught farting and laughing several times in the dressing room: Reports
According to reports, Lyon removed their Brazilian defender Marcelo from their squad various times due to his flatulence in the dressing room and making a laugh about it.
The “inappropriate behaviour” made the club officials demote him to the reserves team after they lost a shameful match to Angers this season. The former sporting director Juninho and Lyon Manager Peter Bosz decided to exclude him from the squad due to his bad habits and laughs regarding the situation in front of his teammates.
Marcelo joined Lyon last summer and played very few games for the eight spot holder in the Ligue 1, which is an awful season after missing out on European competitions.
The atmosphere in the team wasn’t good and such misbehaviour didn’t do good to the defender as his contract was terminated and he ended up signing for Bordeaux for the rest of the season. It is undoubtedly one of the weirdest things to happen in football as there will be hardly any sportsman who got terminated for farting and laughing about it in front of his coach and officials.

Lyon defender Marcelo was sacked and joined Bordeaux for the remaining season
After being sacked by the club’s management and officials, he joined Bordeaux and is currently at the bottom of the table fighting for the spot outside the relegation zone.
Marcelo joined the bottom-placed side after his misbehaviour and awkward habits didn’t help him much this season and his misfortunes came because of his actions. Lyon coach Peter Bosz was pissed off by his misconduct in the dressing room as football is all about mannerism and discipline.
Lyon is currently at the eighth spot in the table followed by mishaps from their fans, the mid-season exit of their sporting director, Juninho, and their coach’s future undecided. All these aspects have affected the side badly leaving them to miss any European competitions in the next season.
