Speaking at an interview for Apple TV, World Cup winner Lionel Messi shed light upon his pursuits at PSG and how he felt about his time with the Parisians. After a summer full of speculation and expectations, the Argentine’s time in France was a mixed bag of sorts, with his inability to recreate his usual magnificent self on the pitch as well as issues with the fans and coach/coaches alike.
Speaking in the interview, Messi recollected, “There were two difficult years at PSG, I had lost that feeling of enjoying playing football. My trips to the National Team were my happiest moments during that time. Here in Miami, I found my happiness with a ball again.” Fans and players alike have commented on Messi’s time at PSG. While some feel like it was a ‘failure’ of sorts, his 32 goals and 34 assists in 75 outings for the club speaks for itself.
After 2 years at PSG, Messi finds himself at Inter Miami and has taken no time to return to his magnificent self. Social media posts and comments show a ‘rejuvenated’ Messi who is all smiles and cheers on the pitch.
