Football superstar Lionel Messi has purchased a $10.75 million waterfront mansion in Miami, Florida. The 10,500-square-foot estate is located in the Bay Colony community, a gated neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale. The property has 170 feet of water frontage and includes 10 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a three-car garage, and a pool.
He and his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, have three sons. The couple reportedly plans to make Miami their permanent home after Messi’s contract with Inter Miami expires in 2023. The mansion is located in a quiet cul-de-sac and has a view of the Intracoastal Waterway. The modern interior also features high ceilings, marble floors, and custom cabinetry. Moreover, the backyard has a large swimming pool, a spa, and a boat dock.
Messi’s mansion purchase is a sign of his commitment to Miami. He is one of several high-profile athletes who recently bought property in the area, including Tom Brady, David Beckham, and Serena Williams. The influx of wealthy residents is helping to fuel the growth of Miami’s luxury real estate market.
In a statement, Messi said, “We are very excited to start this new chapter in our lives in Miami. We have always loved the city and the people here and look forward to calling it home.” The mansion purchase is a significant coup for Miami real estate. The Bay Colony community has never sold a home as expensive as this mansion.
Fort Lauderdale has only sold one other home that was more expensive. The mansion’s purchase signifies Messi’s long-term commitment to Miami. Ideally, it seems like he is buying a home for his family to live in for many years.
Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland compete for the Ballon d’Or
Both Leo Messi and Erling Haaland will compete for this year’s prestigious Ballon d’Or award. Being the two favorites to get a historic personal accolade, both players have displayed excellent fighting spirits throughout the season, which has set them apart.
In the race to be the best player in the world, the youngster Haaland witnessed what may be called one of the best debut seasons ever. On the other hand, Messi guided Argentina to a historic first World Cup win as captain since 1986. He also won Player of the Tournament for his performance.
Erling Haaland guided City to a historic treble and the first-ever UCL victory in their history. However, with Messi having confessed his desire not to be competing for the award for the 8th win, Haaland’s victory could undoubtedly be the beginning of a new era for other sports.
