Lionel Messi’s family friend has dropped major claims on this year’s Ballon d’Or award. He claims that Messi is the frontrunner even before the ceremony after his successful campaign guiding Argentina to its first-ever World Cup since 1986.
“Lionel Messi was told today that he is the winner of Ballon d’Or 2023.” Alessandro Dossetti remarked that he is confident his friend will win the award over youngsters Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
Even his former teammate Mbappe had extended his support towards Messi winning the prestigious award. Many players worldwide supported the Argentine maestro, claiming he should be winning his unchallenged eighth Ballon d’Or.
However, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is a tough completion to the player who had a highly successful treble-winning debut campaign with the club. Whether Haaland wins his first or Messi sets another unbreakable record will soon be witnessed by the world as we approach the ceremony.
