Lionel Messi registers another milestone in 2022 season despite playing as a playmaker for PSG

Several Paris Saint-Germain players, including Lionel Messi, have improved their play under manager Christophe Galtier. The Argentine forward has contributed to six goals in total this season, including five in Ligue 1 action.
Overall, Messi has recorded 12 total assists in Ligue 1 play in 2022. No player has recorded more assists in league play than Messi among all players in Europe’s top five leagues this calendar year.
This year, Messi has proven to be a successful playmaker on numerous occasions. For starters, in PSG’s Ligue 1 season opener against Clermont Foot earlier this month, he registered one assist and also produced four chances for teammates to score goals.
As of now, Messi will face another significant challenge in his PSG career when the team hosts AS Monaco on Ligue 1 matchday four. PSG has scored 17 goals in its first three league games and comes into this encounter on a hot streak.
