Lionel Messi secretly expecting Joan Laporta to give him a call about Barcelona return: Reports
Lionel Messi waits for transfer call from Joan Laporta by keeping his agreement with PSG on standstill

Lionel Messi is waiting for a formal agreement and a call from Barcelona president Juan Laporta. The Argentine star along with his supporters all across the league expects his return to the Blaugrana and play alongside Lewandowski. Speculations keep on bloating on the superstar’s return with the passage of the day. The PSG forward has not made any contract with PSG which is present on the table.
The prolific striker expects to get on a call with his former club’s president regarding his move to Barcelona. It is clear from such intentions that he wants to leave his new club by the end of the season.
It is reportedly said that Joan Laporta has contacted the Argentine superstar’s agent, who happens to be the father of the player himself. The president of the Catalan club is yet to contact the player in a formal manner. As per reports, the player is supposed to receive a reduced salary but not less than Robert Lewandowski’s salary plus a share in the revenue which is generated through the club’s sponsorship.
There are also reports that Barcelona boss Xavi has contacted his former teammate. The Spanish Tactician has contacted the PSG star a couple of times to discuss the matter and future prospects regarding the team and his possible position in the team on his return to the club. Xavi surely agrees that he would highly like the World Cup winner as a part of his team. There is no doubt that both the Tactician and the player have shared a good bond for a large number of days playing as teammates for Barcelona.
Lionel Messi has made a jaw-breaking record during his tenure at Barcelona. The prolific number 10 registered more than 650 goals for the Blaugrana in all competitions, sealing 10 La Liga and four Champions League titles for the club. Messi had to leave the club due to financial constraints and moved to PSG in 2021.
Messi rejects massive €400 m deal from Al Hilal

The 35-year-old Argentine has turned down a mammoth offer from Al Hilal. The Riyadh-based club Al Hilal offered Messi a humongous offer of €400m per year, even greater than Cristiano Ronaldo’s €200 m at Al Nassr.
The intentions of the player remain clear to stay in Europe and not move out even at this point of his career. The term of the contract with PSG is close to reaching an end, and Barcelona sees hope to sign their former player and bring him back.
It is also reported that the seven times Ballon d’Or winner is even ready to take a pay cut in his former club but is not ready to reduce his salary in PSG. This has been one of the biggest reasons why the prolific forward has not accepted the new deal from the French club.
Although fans across the world keep their finger crossed, expecting to see the player move back to Barcelona, but the question remains if the club would be able to pull it off.
