Lionel Messi featured for Inter Miami on Sunday. The club owned by David Beckham fell against Cincinnati by a goal to nil. The loss meant that Inter Miami officially failed to qualify for the Playoffs. In Messi’s last outing for the club for over 4 months, the player shared a heartwarming moment with a fan. The moment occurred after the loss against Cincinnati.
Lionel Messi’s bodyguard has a huge audience on social media. Clips of Yassine Chueko (Bodyguard) scanning the crowd, pacing the touchline and tackling pitch invaders have gone viral on the internet. Previously, a clip of Messi sharing a laugh with his ‘bodyguard’ went viral on X. In the most recent incident, we see his bodyguard in action against a young fan.
After the full-time whistle, a young fan was running up to an unsuspecting Leo Messi. However, his bodyguard was on his toes, as always, to tackle the pitch invader. After Chueko pulled away the fan from Messi, he did the unexpected. The bodyguard let the fan fulfil his dream of clicking a picture with the star. The fan also got his shirt signed by the star.

Lionel Messi’s return from injury not enough as Miami fall 1-0 to Cincinnati
Lionel Messi was sidelined with an injury for the last 4 games. The club failed to win a single game in his 4-game absence and sit 14th in the Eastern Conference of the MLS. The World Cup winner is now set to miss out on the Playoffs after the club’s poor run of form following his injury. Lionel Messi made his first appearance after the injury against Cincinnati.
However, his 35-minute outing was not enough to lift the club out of its losing streak. In an end-to-end first half, either side threatened to take the lead. However, Miami had the better share of chances, hitting the post three times in the first half! However, a Sergio Busquets error in the second half led to a Cincinnati goal. Lionel Messi tried his best to pull one back for his team but failed to do so.
The Argentine saw 2 of his free-kicks miss the target and another shot go wide. Drake Callender made crucial saves to keep Miami in the game. However, a 78th-minute Alvaro Barreal strike was the undoing of the home side. The loss meant that Inter Miami were officially out of contention for the playoffs.
