In an earlier interview with Sofia Martinez last month, Lionel Messi expressed his gratitude to his teammates and his loyal fans during his challenging stint at PSG last season. The interview was broadcasted all over the media by TV Publica on Thursday.

Lionel Messi, the generational ace player found himself in a tough situation after winning the World Cup trophy for Argentina at FIFA World Cup held in Qatar, in 2022. Messi faced much criticism from his PSG fans dues to his dip in his club performances which were exceptionally high from the PSG crowd.

In the interview, he discussed the role of his Argentine teammates in his professional football career, and how they have been beside him during his tough times. He also highlighted his special bond with his teammate Rodrigo de Paul, which the football community dubbed his “Bodyguard” for Messi.

When asked about the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi said, I went through difficult situations and was criticized a lot, I saw that there was a generation of boys who defended me to the death. They fought with a lot of people to defend me. Thank you for all that love and those fights you had for me. It is also a great satisfaction for them to have won the World Cup.”

Also, the former PSG star states that he wants to enjoy the limited amount of time he has left with football adn gave the football community a hunch about ‘Hanging his boots’ forever.
