Lionel Messi took matters into his own hands as Busquets won the ball back and found Messi. The Argentine showed his class as he found former Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba on the run, which the Spaniard then deftly slotted home.
Lionel Messi was not done yet as he made up for a missed chance when through on goal, early in the first half. The number 10 picked the ball from midfield carried it all the way to the penalty box and teed up Leonardo Campana for a first-time finish, making it 3-0. LAFC got one back through Hollingshead but the game ended 1-3 with Miami taking all 3 points.
