The jerseys were sold for a whopping $7.8 million at Sotheby’s. According to Sotheby’s, the sale has marked the highest price for sports artifacts this year. A portion of the auction proceeds will be donated to the UNICAS Project, which supports children with rare diseases. The program will be held under the leadership of Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children’s Hospital in collaboration with the Leo Messi Foundation.
