The Reds have spent more than £200 million on talent in just this window alone, with Casemiro and Antony costing more than £140 million combined. While Christian Eriksen was acquired for free, the club spent almost £60 million on Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, and Christian Eriksen.
However, the business’s history is what has resulted in this outrageous figure and a glaring lack of success to show for it. For nearly the whole decade, Ed Woodward’s administration of United resulted in amateur signings. It is easy to understand why United is at the top of the list when combined with the ineptitude of the Glazer ownership.
