Mohamed Salah has been Liverpool’s savior for a long time running. The Egyptian goal scorer has scored 198 times for the Reds in 322 appearances. He proved his worth yet again as Liverpool hosted Brentford at Anfield. His 2 goals gave Liverpool an easy win over the Bees as Jurgen Klopp‘s side rose to second in the table. His spectacular brace warranted praise, even from the opposition manager.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank was at the receiving end of Mohamed Salah’s brilliance in a 3-0 loss at Anfield. The coach said that even though Jurgen Klopp heaps praise on himself, he doubts that he says the same about Salah.

Thomas Frank in the post-match press conference said:

He [Salah] is potentially one of the best attacking players in the Premier League. In terms of goals and assists, what a level he is at. He is one of the best offensive players in the world.

He added that having a player of his quality on the opposition is always a problem for his team.

Salah’s two goals came in either half, one from a curled shot inside the area, and the other from an open header from a Kostas Tsimikas cross. Brentford had no response, as Diogo Jota finished off the visitors with a spectacular goal from just outside the box.

3 players receive praise from Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool beat Brentford

Liverpool cruised past Brentford on Matchday 12 as the Reds put three past Thomas Frank’s side. Jurgen Klopp was pleased with his team’s performance and picked out three players from his squad that required special praise. To start with, Klopp heaped praise on his in-form Uruguayan striker. The #9 had 2 spectacular goals disallowed in the first half before Mohamed Salah scored his brace.

Despite a sublime header and an unbelievable bicycle kick being ruled offside, Klopp was more impressed by the forward’s aggressive defending and work rate. The work rate was amazing, highlighting Nunez’s role in disrupting Brentford’s game plan. Salah, who scored his 200th goal for an English club, also earned praise from the German.

Kostas Tsimikas, the Greek defender put in a convincing performance after coming on for an injured Andy Robertson. His two assists against Brentford were enough to get him into the good books of the German manager. The win ensured that Liverpool are now comfortably second in the Premier League, with 27 points in 12 games.
