“Liverpool have always had problems against us”- Timo Warner believes Chelsea can beat the Reds in the FA Cup 2021-22 final despite starting as the underdogs

In a recent interview, Chelsea star Werner ruled out the fact that Liverpool will win the FA cup with ease as Klopp’s men have always faced difficulties against them. The German international loved the fact that Chelsea is considered the underdog in the FA Cup final as he relishes the fact that they will play the final for the third season in a row.

The 26-year-old Chelsea forward believes that they are the surprise package after they defeated Manchester City in last year’s UCL final and they were the underdogs in the finals.

Tuchel’s side had a bad past in the FA Cup after they lost two back-to-back finals as they face the Merseyside in the third final and they won’t be easy enough to be beaten. Klopp’s side is surely the favorites but Werner loves to be on the other side of being favorites in any final game.

Werner said, “When you are three years in a row in the final and lose it three times, that would not be the best record that you can put into the history of the FA Cup. But I think the FA Cup Final is a bit similar to the Champions League Final last year. I think there we were also a bit the underdogs, but it fits us very well, I think. With the structure we have.”

“Liverpool have always had problems against us. In the last two years that I’ve been here, we always had good games against Liverpool. We never lost in 90 minutes, so I think we also won some games”, he added.

Timo Werner might turn out to be the player to hand Chelsea the FA Cup

Timo Werner joined Chelsea and has been playing for the last two seasons in the Blue shirt after joining in a 45 million euros deal. He had a tough first season managing just six goals in 35 appearances.

He scored 4 goals in 21 matches this season in the Premier League but his performance with the ball has been impressive allowing Tuchel to make him the first choice over Lukaku. He has scored two goals and assisted three times making him the player with the most goal contribution this season in the FA Cup as they look to shock the world by beating Liverpool on Saturday.
