The ongoing Middle East situation has given rise to tons of controversy in the footballing world. Moreover, players are being sanctioned and suspended for posts relating to the same. A few could even see their contacts getting terminated. In light of this, clubs imposed bans on public displays of support or holding banners and flags during matches.

The Premier League has had its fair share of controversy as well. The league board has asked clubs to ban Israel and Palestine flags during matches as well. However, it was only during the game against Everton that Liverpool fans displayed Palestinian flags. More recently, an Israeli fan has taken an extreme measure to express his disappointment with the club.

Oren Sensel, a 45-year-long Liverpool fan has decided to cover up his Liverpool crest tattoo and strike through the club motto, “You’ll N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ Walk Alone.” It now reads, “You’ll Walk Alone,” with the crest changed to a star of David.

Moreover, he chose to do so, because of the club’s decision as the poster offering condolences to the victims in Israel was taken down at the Kop.

Liverpool face hurdles in their attempt to sign Musiala

Jamal Musiala, the 20-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy is in top form. The winger’s spectacular performances have caught the eye of several clubs in Europe. The youngster is an undisputed starter at Bayern and Thomas Tuchel’s go-to player in midfield. Several clubs, including the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea have shown interest in the promising player.

Moreover, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is also in the market for the player. After failing to add important reinforcements in midfield last season, the club acquired Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, and Wataru Endo. However, the addition of Jamal Musiala to the squad will be beneficial to the rebuild in midfield as well. However, acquiring the player will be a tricky task for Liverpool.

After massive signings in the summer, the club will be short on cash in the next window. Given the heavy interest and massive price tag on the player, the Reds will have to break the bank to lure the player to Anfield. The player has 2 years left on his Bayern Munich contract, even though reports suggest that a move away from the Allianz Arena is in the cards.
