Liverpool set to face Nottingham Forest in hopes of overtaking Manchester City

Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool is in great form, having not lost at Anfield in their last 8 games. They aim to continue this streak on Sunday. After a dominant 5-1 win against Toulouse, Liverpool is now 4th in the table with 20 points. A victory on Sunday could move Klopp’s team ahead of defending champions Manchester City in the standings.

Nottingham however, have not had the best of starts to their season. They find themselves 15th in the table, with 10 points from their first 9 games. Liverpool will go into the tie confident of a win. Stats-wise, Liverpool have won all of the last 12 meetings between the two sides. Moreover, the Reds have only lost one of their last 46 home matches.

While Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, and Alexis Mac Allister are all set to start, the availability of Luis Díaz is uncertain. Nottingham are on a poor run of form as well. Forest have managed just 2 wins and 4 draws in their last 10 games. Their last win came against Chelsea, in a surprise 1-0 victory away from home. A win would see the away side jump to 11th, overtaking Chelsea.
