Real Madrid didn’t see an outcome in their favor on Tuesday when they locked horns with Girona in La Liga. The Los Blancos went distant with Barcelona after they lost to Girona in today’s fixture by three goals to one. Valentin Castellanos completely destroyed Real Madrid in the latter’s away ground by scoring four goal overhauls in the match. 

Carlo Ancelotti’s team suffered the first tremble in the 12th minute of the game. The Real Madrid side left the Argentine hat-trick hero unmarked by Casa Blanca in their six years box. The Argentine had no problem putting it past Real Madrid keeper Lunin who had no chance to save it.

Things got worse for the Carlo Ancelotti side after the Argentine forward took brilliant control of a long ball from Martinez. The player beat Eder Militao to put it in the net to double the lead. Vinicius Junior got a goal back before the half-time but was of not much help.

Castellanos was in no mood to stop even in the second half. The Argentine with the assist of Yan Couto completed his first hat-trick against Real Madrid right after the first half. The Girona star added the cherry on the cake after scoring his fourth taking the lead to three against Real Madrid. 

With this, Castellanos also became the first Argentine player to score four goals in a single match against Real Madrid after 1947. The 85th-minute goal by Kucas Vasquez only added as a consolation to reduce the goal scored -concede ratio without much greater help.

One fan went on saying ‘I can’t be convinced that the Real Madrid players are on the field,,  are still sleeping in Madrid.’ While another said ‘Real Madrid can surprise anyone anytime. Today, they have decided to surprise us fans???.’ Some even took to Twitter to compare Los Blanco’s performance in La Liga and Champions League.

After this humiliating defeat, Real Madrid will next face Almeria in La Liga on the weekend. Currently 11-points behind table toppers, Barcelona, with them having a match in hand, the hopes of a league win are practically over for the Los Blancos.
