Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has hinted at the possibility of a return to football after his cardiologist informed him on a live stream he could be able to make a comeback. The Argentinean appeared visibly emotional after the conversation.

The former Manchester City forward, who scored 260 goals in 390 appearances for the club, was forced into an early retirement in December 2021. He retired hastily, after being diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia, just a few months after joining Barcelona. The 35-year-old forward, since his retirement, has started his own Twitch stream and has also played football for Gerard Pique’s seven-a-side Kings League.

During the recent Twitch livestream, the Argentinean disclosed he has been undergoing training, to make a return to professional football. He engaged in a live conversation with his cardiologist, seeking advice on his fitness. The cardiologist assured Aguero that he would not encounter any issues while playing for around 20 minutes. Moreover, the doctor emphasized the importance of thorough medical tests for short bursts of activity on the field.

Aguero was left deeply emotional after the stream, learning of the possibility of returning to football. It remains intriguing to see his next moves regarding his future. A potential return to his former club Independiente, is being considered.

Ex-Argentinean legend Sergio Aguero is anticipated to make a shock return to professional football, two years after retiring from the sport due to a cardiac ailment. The 35-year-old ex-Manchester City standout might consider an offer from his “close friend” Carlos Tevez to return to Independiente.

Aguero could make a surprising return to his boyhood side Independiente, playing between 1997 and 2006. Responding to a fan’s question about his future, Aguero stated that if Carlitos (Tevez) invited him, he would need to consult his cardiologist. Moreover, he also mentioned the possibility of only being able to play for 20 minutes initially.

Regarding his intentions, Aguero acknowledged that when he was active, he had intended to retire while playing for Independiente. The Argentine expressed his wish to return to the club for a short period, before retiring from football. However, this plan never materialized.
