Manchester City interested in Marc Cucurella but not able to meet Brighton’s £50m valuation: Reports

Pep Guardiola has already had a busy summer in terms of both departures and new signings, with Oleksandr Zinchenko set to leave the Etihad. Manchester City has been monitoring Brighton and Hove Albion defender Marc Cucurella as a potential replacement for Zinchenko.

Zinchenko is said to be nearing a £32 million move to Arsenal this summer, with Guardiola confirming his departure during an interview. The Ukrainian was happy at City but has now taken the chance to reunite with Mikel Arteta and play more regularly in midfield.

According to ESPN, the clubs are £20 million short of their valuations, and City has no intention of paying the full £50 million, believing that £30 million is a more accurate value. Following the suspension of Benjamin Mendy, the departure of the Ukraine international would leave a significant void in City’s left-back position. Brighton & Hove Albion are expecting Manchester City to make a move for Marc Cucurella.

Cucurella, 23, signed a five-year contract with Brighton last year, and his debut season was a success, with the Spaniard winning the Seagulls Player of the Year award. Cucurella has made 38 appearances for Brighton in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting on a further two.

Manchester City rejects Neymar in a Bernardo Silva swap deal after PSG’s offer

Manchester City

Sensational rumors claim that Paris Saint-Germain offered Neymar to Manchester City. But the Premier League winners appear to have rejected their proposal for a swap deal with Bernardo Silva going the opposite way.

Le Parisien claims that the French behemoths approached City recently. Despite the fact that the most expensive player in the world activated a provision in his contract tying him down until 2027, they are reportedly seeking to try to transfer him this summer.

However, no agreement could be reached with City, who continued to put their emphasis on finding youthful talent rather than signing the 30-year-old Neymar. In the current transfer window, City has purchased Erling Haaland, Kalvin Philipps, and Julian Alvarez while also offloading Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling.
