Real Madrid have been in the transfer market in search of a new striker. With only one striker in Joselu, they have been searching for reinforcements to bolster their attacking prowess. While they are linked with Kylian Mbappe, they have also now started monitoring a move for a certain Norwegian striker. 

Erling Haaland has set the Premier League ablaze, scoring 71 goals in 75 matches for Manchester City. Considered as the best striker in the world right now, he was on Real Madrid’s radar. Many reports from Spain claimed he was set to join Los Blancos thanks to an exit clause in his contract. But that does not worry Manchester City a tad bit.

According to The Sun, Madrid could pay only £85 million to secure the services of the striker, but City aren’t concerned. The outlet claims City is close to tying down Haaland to a new contract, which could make him the highest-paid player in the history of the Premier League. 

The striker owns a property in Spain and has been looking for a move to the nation for quite a while. He is contracted to City till 2027, but with the exit clause put in for moves away from England, he could leave soon. 

Real Madrid is probably the biggest club in the world, with fans all across the globe. Their history is unmatched and their current team is still one of the best out there. Their tradition of building teams by buying the best players in the world and they aim to continue it.

With Kylian Mbappe still deciding on his future, Los Blancos set their eyes on Elring Haaland. According to the Spanish Media house, AS, Real Madrid were ready to pay his release clause of just £85 million. 

AS also reported on 8th January that Madrid could land the striker within 24 hours, but so far those have only been rumors. With the club searching for Karim Benzema’s replacement, Haaland could be the perfect fit for the Spanish giants. 

The 23-year-old has been injured since the start of December, sitting out due to a stress fracture. While many don’t know when he will be back to play, Pep Guardiola claimed he could return by the end of January. He is the highest goalscorer in the league despite missing City’s last four matches.
