Manchester United announces big news about Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of clash against Chelsea
Cristiano Ronaldo
As sources claimed Cristiano Ronaldo will not be in the squad for Manchester United’s Premier League match against Chelsea on Saturday. The rest of the team is completely focused on preparing for that game. Manchester United is reportedly considering terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract if he does not change his attitude.
Ronaldo’s status has been one of Manchester United’s summer storylines, with the forward reportedly wanting to leave the club to play Champions League football elsewhere. However, no transfer has occurred as of yet.
Ronaldo spent much of the summer away from the club, hoping to force a move, but with none forthcoming, he returned to United ahead of the season’s start. Upset Cristiano Ronaldo was seen walking back into the tunnel before fans and teammates could begin celebrating Manchester United’s victory over Tottenham.
As the game began, the legendary footballer sat on the bench and remained there. Even before the final whistle, and with United still having two substitutions available, he left the field visibly upset.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s streak of bad luck continues
Despite spending more than 150 million euros in the summer transfer window, United has yet to become the world-beaters that were expected with the signings of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and the Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo. United have dropped to fifth place in the league table as a result of Tuesday’s game, worse than their second-place finish last season.
United have suffered humiliating defeats, the most recent being a penalty shootout loss to Championship side Middlesbrough, a game in which Ronaldo’s performance was criticized in particular. He not only missed a penalty that could have kept the game from going to penalties in the first place, but he also failed to score a single goal out of the ten shots he took.
When United re-signed Ronaldo in 2021, it sparked excitement throughout the football world, with fans hailing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner as the savior United needed to end their decade-long drought of failing to win the league title. At first, it appeared that they had been vindicated, as Ronaldo began his United debut with a brace against Newcastle. The match was won by the Red Devils 4-1.
