Manchester United breaks silence over domestic abuse investigation on Antony, says the club is ‘taking this matter seriously’

Manchester United have made an official announcement regarding Antony. The Brazilian forward is currently under assault allegations by his ex-partner Gabriela Cavallin.
Less than a month ago Gabriela Cavallin had revealed that she would file a police report regarding the player. Unpublished videos and audio were released showcasing Antony’s abuse towards his former partner alongside a 70-page document that gathers ‘proof’ about the abuser. Gabriela also shared photos of the ‘said’ abuse. Further, she states that the player’s physical abuse caused a displacement in her breast implants. Cases of mental abuse were also highlighted as Cavallin confessed that Antony had threatened to kill her.
Recently, Antony released a statement regarding the situation, stating the accusations made are false. “After the closure of the investigation, my innocence will certainly be proven and justice will prevail,” he ended. This situation has caused Antony to be dropped from the Brazilian National Team, and replaced by Gabriel Jesus.
The CBF stated the decision was made to “preserve the alleged victim, the player, the Brazil team, and the CBF.” Later, Manchester United also released an official statement regarding the same. “Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the Police are conducting enquiries.” The club at the moment refuses to make any further comments pending any more information being revealed.
Manchester United have already had a tumultuous time as of late. With poor behavior off the pitch and poor performances on it, fans will be hoping their players are not ‘guilty’ of such acts.

Since the end of the ’22/23 season, Manchester United have found themselves in many difficult situations. Poor handling of Mason Greenwood‘s case left a bad taste for many fans. The public was informed that the player would be moved on. He was instead loaned out to Getafe. This means that Mason Greenwood’s return to United is not completely out of the question.
Jadon Sancho‘s recent row with Erik ten Hag has also been an issue as of late. With the two apparently ready to ‘clear the air’, things are not looking good in the locker room.
The Glazers have demanded £10 billion for the club’s sale, taking Manchester United out of the market. The fans who sing ‘Glazers out’ in every home game are livid with this decision after much news was made about the club finding new owners.
Now another issue arises with Antony, Manchester United fans are most likely expecting a difficult season and not just as a fan of football.
