Manchester United is considering giving negotiation exclusivity to Qatar according to reports. This is because their bid is currently higher than that of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s, a recently published statement by the club said.
The negotiations between the club and the Qatari consortium are currently gathering pace. According to Reuters, their bid is higher than that of Ineos with the price being quoted of upwards of $4.7 billion.
As part of Sheikh Jassim’s deal, the Glazer family won’t be part of the club anymore. While they can still be part of it if the Ineos bid is successful. The share price of the club has skyrocketed with the anticipation of the sale. If exclusivity is granted to Qatar, the United Board won’t be able to negotiate with any other prospective buyer.
The takeover process has been going on since November. However, it is not expected to take much longer as talks seem to be kicking into second gear.
Manchester United join Chelsea in the race to sign Inter Goalkeeper Andre Onana
Manchester United have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Inter Goalkeeper Andre Onana. David De Gea’s contract is set to expire in the summer with talks still not finished. His inconsistent form cost the team last season. This is why Ten Hag wants a new goalkeeper.
Onana enjoyed a great season in Inter’s run to the UCL Final where they lost to Manchester City 1-0. Onana is already known to Ten Hag as he played under him previously at Ajax before moving to Inter. Inter has already enquired about Brentford’s David Raya as a replacement for him.
Manchester United also have Porto’s Diogo Costa on their shortlist. The Portuguese has been regularly scouted by the club last season and has admirers there.
