Kim Kardashian is no stranger to Football. The $1.7 billion worth of American businesswoman and ‘socialite’ has become the latest big-name addition to the Manchester United fan base. Pictures posted by the star on Instagram show her sporting a red Manchester United cap, as fans were a little short of ‘thrilled’ seeing the same. Important clashes against Bayern Munich and Liverpool made fans comment that her ‘allegiance’ couldn’t have come at a better time.
Kim Kardashian has never shied away from sporting football jerseys or making an appearance at important games. The celebrity made an appearance for Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami debut as well. She has publicly sported jerseys of clubs like AS Roma, Arsenal, and Inter Miami.
Her most recent post features Kim wearing a figure-hugging black blazer and shorts, with Vans and a Manchester United cap. She has posed for the same alongside her children and nephews. A second slide shows one of her nieces wearing a Real Madrid kit as well.
The post is captioned “Everything” and has amounted to over 2 million likes since it was posted 12 hours ago. Given the current state Manchester United is in, fans are not optimistic and have taken her choice of the cap as ‘bad luck’.
Fans react to Kim Kardashian’s Manchester United allegiance
A depleted and out-of-form Manchester United will take on Bayern Munich in a crucial Champions League fixture on Wednesday. The 43-year-old’s post has made quite a stir on social media, as fans were quick to remind everyone of the ‘Kardashian curse’. Many expressed their worries ahead of the fixture, with a majority of them going against Kim K’s choice of cap.
A fan said that the Kardashian curse was the last thing that Manchester United needed as a team. Many commented that the club are losing and quoted ‘5-0’ and ‘6-0’ score lines against their favor. One particular fan saw the funny side as he asked Kim to play as ‘CB’, given Manchester United’s shortage of players due to injury. ‘L’ confirmed was one of the most liked comments under the post.
Manchester United are bottom of Group A heading into matchday 6. Even a win against Bayern Munich will not be enough to secure qualification as the club also require Galatasaray vs Copenhagen to end in a draw. Erik ten Hag will have to put his best for forward against the reigning German champions. Bayern got the better of them 4-3 in a closely contested fixture at the Allianz Arena.
