Man United outcast Mason Greenwood wants a ‘dream’ move to Barcelona

Ex-Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has expressed his desire to make a move to his ‘dream’ club Barcelona, at the end of the season. The Catalan giants are monitoring the English forward, who is currently on loan at the La Liga side, Getafe. The United outcast has reportedly communicated to his advisors urging for a transfer to the La Liga giants, exclaiming that it would fulfill his long standing dream.
The 22-year old player, is currently enjoying an impressive season at Getafe, where he has scored five goals and assisted four times, in 19 matches. Recent reports indicate that Barcelona led the race to acquire the services of the forward, ahead of other clubs like Valencia and Real Sociedad. Additionally, the Catalan giants have reportedly offered Lionel Messi’s No.10 shirt to lure Greenwood to the club.
Greenwood’s Manchester United career came to a sudden halt in 2022, after he was accused and later arrested on charges of s*xual assault. Following a prolonged judicial procedure, the English star was finally acquitted of all the charges in February 2023. Greenwood, was later loaned out to La Liga, after United expressed their reluctance to welcome him back to the team. The Red Devils are now hoping to get a substantial fee by selling him, once his loan deal gets over.
Barcelona want to sign Greenwood, and he wants to move there. The next step is for the clubs to come to an agreement. Manchester United want to sell the player and the manager has accepted Greenwood won’t be returning. They (FC Barcelona) think he is a player who can help take them to the next level both in the domestic competitions and in Europe and is one for the future.An anonymous source close to the player said, as reported by Daily Mail.
The source close to the player added that Barcalona move would a dream for Greenwood and exclaimed that a potential deal with Barcelona for Mason Greenwood is likely to include a number of add-ons. United could seek a transfer fee of around €40-45 million for the winger.

Manchester United could ask for three Barcelona players in a swap deal in exchange for Mason Greenwood
Former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood is reportedly being pursued by Barcelona, following an impressive loan spell at La Liga side Getafe. The Blaugrana are hoping to secure a move for Greenwood in the upcoming summer transfer window, for a substantial fee of €40-45 million.
The Catalan giants are said to have taken a keen interest in the 22-year old’s development at Getafe, and this presents United with an opportunity to extract a huge fee for Greenwood and explore the possibility of a swap deal involving three other players.
Erik ten Hag is reportedly an admirer of Barcelona defender, Ronald Araujo. The 24-year is one of Europe’s most highly rated center-backs and United could leverage the Greenwood deal to bring Araujo to the Premier League. However, the Red Devils might need to pay an additional amount alongside the 22-year old winger, given Araujo’s €70 million valuation.
