Manchester United to sue Cristiano Ronaldo over his exploiting interview

Having followed Manchester United’s announcement on Friday that they might have ‘initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview,’ there are now claims that the team is considering parting ways with the Portuguese and has advised their lawyers to find if they could sweep up the Portugal forward’s agreement.

Manchester United have hired lawyers to investigate potential legal action against Cristiano Ronaldo for claimed breach of contract following allegations made by the striker in the latest interview, as the club seeks to orchestrate his exit as soon as possible.

According to ESPN, United is attempting to terminate Ronaldo’s agreement and also sue him for violation of his contract, indicating that the club has been in contact with their legal counsel since Monday morning after segments of Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan Morgan were released on Sunday.

United’s directors expect the 37-year-old out as soon as possible, as does Erik ten Hag, who is enraged by Ronaldo’s scathing strike on him and the club’s structure this week. It is known that United is reluctant to cover the remaining seven months of his agreement.

Likely, Ronaldo can never serve for United again, and the 37-year-old has been told not to come back to the team’s Carrington training facility after representing Portugal in the World Cup in Qatar.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s stint at Manchester United

Ronaldo is in his 2nd stint at United after a phenomenal six-year run that concluded in 2009 with three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League, and the Ballon d’Or. His performance elevated him to the ranks of United’s finest players and made him a fan favorite.

Ronaldo’s return in the summer of 2021 was met with delight by fans and praised as a coup by Ten Hag’s forerunner, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, by coming out publicly with his assertions against United Ronaldo, he has severely harmed his stance and prestige.

This accompanied his exit from the Rayo Vallecano friendly in July and the 2-0 league win over Tottenham in October. Despite this, Ten Hag appointed Ronaldo captain for United’s league game against Aston Villa on November 6, which they lost 3-1.
