Manchester United legend Roy Keane has never been one to shy away from taking shots when it comes to criticism. The former Manchester United player turned pundit was fuming at two particular players in a passionate rant following the Red Devils’ 1-0 against Newcastle. Keane primarily bashed Marcus Rashford and likened his current slump in form to that of Anthony Martial.

United were lacking in defense and aggression, according to Roy Keane. He said:

United aren't as talented as they think they are at the moment.

He also questioned their body language and inability to pull of results while also not changing things up and expecting better results. A poor run of form – a draw against Galatasaray and a loss against Newcastle – forced Roy Keane to question the club’s direction. He also said that United were ‘drifting’ and were ‘insane’ to expect better results by doing the same thing.

Keane referred to Marcus Rashford as the ‘local lad’ and said that he was not a child anymore. Further, saying that Rashford needs to track back and also set an example on the pitch for other players.

[Rashford] is a local lad... He's 26, he's not a child anymore. He's got that mega-deal now, huge money. He's got to run more than anybody. If not, it's not good.

Furthermore, Roy Keane also took a brutal dig at Anthony Martial while schooling Rashford during his rant: He said:

We still look at Martial and celebrate when he scores a goal every 14 years.

Concluding it all, the ex-defender said that based on the current form, United aren’t finishing in the top four.

The official Twitter of Newcastle United posted a picture of the team in the dressing room, with the caption: Who’s that team we call United???

United fans flooded the comment section, with many expressing their rage towards the caption in particular. Most comments called Newcastle a small club and said that they haven’t won a trophy in over 70 years.

Others were quick to call the club names like ‘Midcastle United’ and ‘Trophyless FC’ in the comments. Others had a good laugh at Manchester United and said that there’s only one real United – NUFC. A fan said that the post ended them both on and off the pitch. Some made fun that they owe their success to Saudi money and promised that United would finish above them this season. Newcastle are 6th in the league, one spot above Manchester United.
