Manchester United step up interest in Dutch fullback Denzel Dumfries with Inter Milan open to selling: Reports
Denzel Dumfries
In 6 months of being in charge of Manchester United, Ralf Ragnick could not pick is first choice fullbacks on either side of the park. Eric ten Hag is expected to have a similar issue and United seems to have decided to look elsewhere to find their new fullback. It seems the Red Devils have made Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries their priority.
Denzel Dumfries joined Inter Milan last season, filling in the shoes of Achraf Hakimi. However, the dutchman did not disappoint. In 33 Serie A appearances, Dumfries enjoyed 5 goals and 4 assists. Playing as a right-wing-back most of the season. The 26-year-old’s pace and physique are something Eric ten Hag will surely admire.
Denzel Dumfries will reportedly cost Manchester United £26 million.
According to The Daily Mail, Inter Milan has slapped a £26 million price tag on their full-back. A relatively cheaper option for Manchester United as they could raise those funds by selling Aaron Wan Bissaka.
Aaron Wan Bissaka lost his place in the starting XI as soon as Ralf Ragnick became interim manager. The Englishman’s lack of attacking ability forced him to the bench. While Dalot has been better among the two, he hasn’t been all that convincing in his performances.
Dumfries on the hand is a very good attacker of the all and good at carrying it up the field. He’s also pretty good defensively thanks to his tall build. With reports suggesting that Inter Milan is open to selling the player for the right price, Manchester United could come knocking.
