Even though Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s take-over of Premier League giants Manchester United is no secret, the deal has finally been made official. The INEOS Chairman and businessman has acquired a 27.7 percent stake at the club. His investment of £1.3 billion at the club is aimed at bettering the club’s facilities and bringing the club back to ‘the top of world football’.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe beat Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani to the take-over, as the INEOS chairman outbid the rest of his competitors. From an overhaul of club policy in player management to a transformation of the 114-year-old Old Trafford, Ratcliffe and his council have a lot planned for the club. His take-over was shown the green light by both the Premier League as well as the FA.
Becoming co-owner of Manchester United is a great honor and also a great responsibility. This marks the completion of the transaction but only the beginning of the journey to take Manchester United back to the top of English, European, and World football.Ratcliffe said.
Man United eye Bayern Munich forward in surprising transfer ‘plan’
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s take-over means many things for Man United. Even though the club is currently facing no shortage of goals up front, the management is plotting to bring in former Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane! The Englishman parted ways with Spurs in the summer transfer window for a mammoth fee of $108 million.
However, recent reports suggest that the superstar is unhappy at Bayern. This paves the way for United to make a surprising move for the #9, who also fulfills Jim Ratcliffe’s concept of the Man United squad – experienced players with promising young talent. His infusion of cash into the club will significantly increase United’s purchasing power in the market as well.
Kane’s goal-scoring record in the Premier League requires no elaboration, and bringing in the striker will be a ‘no-brainer’ for the club. Even though Kane joined Bayern in search of trophies, the way things stand, he is likely to finish the season without any silverware. However, there has been no shortage of goals for his side, bagging 29 goals and 8 assists in 29 games.
