Mason Greenwood has been named as one of the players in the retention list of Manchester United for the 23/24 season. He has been suspended by the club following allegations made last January. Since then, Greenwood, who has two years remaining on his contract, is yet to make an appearance for the team.

Including Greenwood in the list is due to him being contracted to stay at Old Trafford until 2025. It does not indicate the outcome of an internal club investigation. The charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February. His girlfriend, Harriet Robson, who is also his alleged victim, is rumored to be pregnant and seems to have forgiven him. The pair have been rumored to appear in a TV interview to clarify about the incident.

Sending Greenwood on loan to a foreign club is an option. As it would provide Manchester United with additional time to assess the situation and make a decision. It would also allow them to gather information on public perception, along with monitoring Greenwood’s mental well-being and performance levels.

The striker might have a preference for playing at a higher competitive level. Therefore, a potential move to Italy or Spain is being considered as a possibility.

The Spanish Goalkeeper is not included in the retention list. He will become a free agent on June 30 when his contract expires, unless the Spanish goalkeeper can negotiate and reach an agreement for a new contract. Rumors are also swirling around that a few Saudi clubs might be interested in him.

A United spokesman said: “Discussions remain open with David over a potential new contract.” United have intentions to sign a new goalkeeper during the upcoming window, regardless of de Gea‘s contract situation. It is also anticipated that Dean Henderson will complete his permanent transfer to Nottingham Forest.

United has officially announced the departure of Phil Jones from Old Trafford after his 12-year tenure at the club. Alongside Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Ethan Galbraith, and Di’Shon Bernard are also leaving. In addition to the first-team players, Eric Hanbury, Charlie Wellens, and Manni Norkett will be departing from the academy.
