WATCH: Mason Greenwood breaks the internet with SPECTACULAR strike against Almeria

Getafe’s Mason Greenwood made waves with a brilliant goal against Almeria, securing a 2-1 victory in their recent La Liga match. Initially trailing 1-0 due to Ramazani’s early goal, Getafe equalized when Greenwood struck a powerful shot from outside the box in the 34th minute. The game took a turn in Getafe’s favor with Borja Mayoral’s goal in the 45th minute, sealing their win.

Greenwood joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United this summer after the player got embroiled in a case of attempted r*pe and assault. United suspended the player after he was arrested for the alleged crime in January 2022. All of the charges were later dropped, as the 22-year-old decided to resume playing more than a year after being sidelined by the club.

Subsequently, Greenwood joined Getafe on loan till the end of the 2023/24 season. And it seems that he has quickly become fans’ favorite as he has already contributed with 5 goals for the club- 2 goals and 3 assists. Now, a clip of his latest goal against Almeria is making rounds on social media. Further, the fans feel that ‘Greenwood is back’.

Meanwhile, many fans are hailing the youngster’s left-footed strike as the ‘goal of the year’. His strike was a result of the sheer power that he generated from his left foot. Known for a similar kind of finishing at United, the Red Devils fans will be hoping that the heat around his ‘accusations’ smoothen out by the time he is back at Old Trafford.

In January 2022, Greenwood got into trouble, leading to his suspension by Manchester United. He faced serious charges but was found not guilty in February 2023. Despite this, he felt disheartened and joined Getafe on loan.
