“Evidence couldn’t be more clear” – Fans recycle Mason Greenwood’s s*xual assault transcripts as Manchester United reportedly gives green light to player

Mason Greenwood, the 21-year-old Manchester United forward, has been sidelined since January 2022 after being arrested on charges of attempted r*pe, coercive behavior, and assault. He was cleared of all charges by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in February, but the club launched its own investigation to decide his future.

According to reports, Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold informed the club’s top brass in early August that they were ready to reintegrate Greenwood into the first team and announce it on August 4. However, the announcement was delayed and no official decision has been made public as of Wednesday.

The delay has sparked outrage among many fans, who have once again started circulating transcripts of leaked audio recordings on Twitter that allegedly capture Greenwood forcing himself on Harriet Robson, a 22-year-old model who accused him of s*xual assault. In one of the recordings, Greenwood can be heard cursing at his then-girlfriend, forcefully coercing her to have s*x with him.

Mason Greenwood’s fate hangs in the balance as Manchester United nears decision

Manchester United is still undecided on whether to bring back Mason Greenwood to the team, the club said in a statement. The statement was issued after rumors swirled about the young forward’s future with the Red Devils.

The statement reveals the club’s intentions to conduct a thorough investigation despite all charges being dropped against the forward. Moreover, United has completed the fact-finding part of it and is close to making a final decision regarding Greenwood.

Following the dropping of all charges against Mason Greenwood in February 2023, Manchester United has conducted a thorough investigation into the allegations made against him. ... The fact-finding phase of our investigation is now complete, and we are in the final stages of making a decision on Mason’s future. ... Once made, the decision will be communicated and explained to the club’s internal and external stakeholders.

The club said they are aware of the “strong opinions” that have been generated by what they called “partial evidence in the public domain.” Manchester United also said their own investigation has relied on the looking out for the club’s stakeholders as well.
