Lionel Messi has always been on the receiving end of fans’ criticism for his protected personality. Some don’t even spare a moment to capitalize when he slags off. Lately, life has been great for the World Champion in MLS. He seems to find it easy to perform. However, in his recent matches, Messi has been seen as a different player, getting into physical altercations with players.
Some fans on Twitter even went on to criticize him for being in a soft league as compared to France. The American League, recently, dipped out of the top 5 rankings. Messi was seen pushing, sometimes reacting unnecessarily, and being aggressive toward rival players. Some fans joked about this new phase of the Argentinian legend resulting from spending a season with Sergio Ramos at PSG.
The 8-time Ballon d’Or winner has been involved in nine goals already with Inter Miami in a brief period. While American celebrities can already see the influence in their country, some MLS fans also appreciated Messi’s physicality saying that this was the standard they were missing so far.

Whether it’s for him being a match-winner or match-aggressor he is certainly one player fans cannot take their eyes off him, even at 36. However, it would only be fair for other players in the league if Messi is eventually penalized when needed so that he just doesn’t end up earning a soft corner for the sport in the wrong ways.
