Mikel Arteta reveals reason behind not watching Arsenal’s ‘All or Nothing’ docuseries till now, plans to watch it this summer

Mikel Arteta talking about Arsenal

In a recent interview Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was asked whether he deliberately avoided watching the whole thing or not. Mikel replied, “Because I don’t like watching myself on TV. I don’t like listening to my voice.”. All or Nothing: Arsenal is an Amazon Original sports docuseries as part of the All or Nothing brand. In the series, English Premier League side Arsenal’s progress was charted through their 2021–22 season, in which they were the youngest team in the Premier League.

The first three episodes of the eight-part series were released on 4 August 2022, and further episodes were released on 11 August and 18 August. One of the journalists said to Arteta, “You lost to Brighton last season. I just wondered if might you watch a bit of that?” The 41-year-old smiled and replied, “If that’s a formula to win, if I have to watch it 50 times, believe me, I would do it.”

Mikel Arteta will be desperate for his Arsenal side to sustain their momentum from this season going into the next few campaigns, with the north London outfit back competing for titles once again. The Gunners have been top of the Premier League for the majority of the year, but the upper hand in proceedings lay with Manchester City.

There’s still some hope left for Arsenal, who will likely have to win their remaining three fixtures and hope for some help elsewhere to deny City. The chances are slim, but all in all the season has shown clear progress for the club, who at the very least have booked a return to the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are nowhere near their peak and he has still not implemented all of the ideas he hopes will turn them into a long-term force at the top. Arsenal must beat Brighton at home on Sunday to keep the chances alive.

But Arteta believes his team has a long way to go. He said, “We are still very, very far, we can be much, much, much better at a lot of things still. Huge margins. We can be much better in our buildup, attacking man-to-man situations, attacking open spaces, and defending deep, set pieces. We have huge margins to do in terms of game management, and a lot of things we can still do much better. It’s a lot of things we have to see for improvement because we don’t have a single player who has reached his peak; not one. And when that happens we as coaches have to understand: what can we do to get them better?”

Injuries continue to disturb Arsenal’s run, though, with Oleksandr Zinchenko the latest player whose season appears to be over. The Ukrainian has a calf injury, having had problems in that area earlier in the season, and although Arteta was tight-lipped over his availability the prospects of a quick return look slim. William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain absent; Jakub Kiwior, who has impressed in the past two matches, will retain his place at center-back.
