After a gym session, serendipity walked her way up to Marta Silchenko as she found herself sharing a lift with the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr., and other superstars. Seeing her opportunity, Silchenko audaciously lifted her phone above her head and captured a series of sneaky selfies, getting the attention of some of the players.

A golfer by profession and originally from Latvia, Silchenko had just finished a session in the gym when some of football’s most famous faces walked into the lift with her.

Silchenko was near Paris competing at the Golf de Saint-Cloud tournament when she encountered the PSG team, who themselves were preparing to face Marseille in their Ligue 1 home tie on Sunday, at the city’s Le Parc des Princes stadium. The amateur world No. 234, finished in 15th position at the Esmond Trophy golf tournament out of a 120-strong field of competitors.

In one of the photos, the legendary Argentinian maestro Messi – considered by many to be the best player of all time – is shown looking directly at the camera, clutching a snack. A surprised Mbappe, France’s 2018 World Cup-winning superstar striker, is also shown looking at the phone with his eyebrows raised.

In another picture, Brazilian defender Marquinhos is seen giving Silchenko a beaming smile as she took the photos. Spanish defender Juan Bernat also raised his eyebrows to the camera in one of the golfer’s now-viral pictures. Another Spanish defender – Sergio Ramos – is shown briefly glancing over his shoulder to see what caught everyone’s attention.

Brazilian trickster Neymar – who completes PSG’s world-class attacking trio along with Messi and Mbappe – stayed hidden under his cap.

Lionel Messi doesn’t find himself lucky during his match against Marseille in Ligue 1

Lionel Messi was not one of PSG’s worst performers against Marseille on Sunday night. However, given his lofty standards, he surely did not do enough to trouble the visiting side. He found the back of the net in the 41st minute, but it was ruled out for offside. The Argentine ace did not create a single goalscoring opportunity and lost possession quite a few times.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner had zero shots on target, lost five ground duels, ceded possession 16 times, and played zero key passes against Marseille. It was certainly not a night to remember for one of the most decorated players in the history of the sport.

Lionel Messi has scored only 3 goals and made 13 assists in Ligue 1 this season. Despite a ‘not so good season,’ the Argentine just needs seven more assists to create the record for the most assists in a single season of Ligue 1.
