A giant mural that showed Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola and Roma boss Jose Mourinho kissing was unveiled in Barcelona. The massive painting was put up at the Primavera Sound Festival.

The image is a twist on the iconic mural that portrayed ex-Soviet Union leader Leonid Brezhnev and his former German Democratic Republic counterpart Erich Honecker at the Berlin Wall. The festival ran for 11 days from June 2 to June 12.

A fierce rivalry between the two coaches erupted when Guardiola was coach of Barcelona and Mourinho was in charge of Real Madrid. The two teams were involved in intense La Liga and Champions League matches.

Guardiola has faced Mourinho a total of 25 times during his managerial career, more times than any other manager that he has faced with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

He has won 12 of those meetings, drawing six and losing seven of the remaining 13, with the pair most recently meeting in February last year when City beat Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur side 3-0.

Both managers are currently preparing for the new season with their respective clubs. Guardiola is heading into his seventh season with City, winning his fourth league title in England. As for Mourinho, he is going into his second season with Italian side Roma, fresh from winning the Europa Conference League in his maiden campaign. It was the club’s first European trophy for 61 years.
