“My story with Bayern is over” – Robert Lewandowski hopes for swift exit from Bayern Munich amidst talks with Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski is still determined to leave Bayern Munich for Barcelona this summer. The Polish forward has already made his position clear and has not been dissuaded by Bayern’s attempts to play hardball and avoid ceding ground to the Spanish side.
Now away with the Poland national team, Lewandowski did not hold back when asked about his future with Bayern.
“It is certain that my story with Bayern Munich is over,” he said. “After what has happened in recent months, I cannot imagine further co-operation.“
“A transfer is the best solution for both parties. Bayern are a serious club and I believe that they will not stop me just because they can,” he added.
Bayern are looking to bolster their attack this summer with a deal for Sadio Mane, who has said his goodbyes to Liverpool in anticipation of a possible transfer.
As for Lewandowski, the Polish international is said to have his heart set on a move to Barcelona, where Xavi is desperate to welcome him with open arms, although the Blaugrana’s financial struggles have so far proven problematic.
Can Barcelona afford Robert Lewandowski?
Lewandowski finished as the Bundesliga’s leading scorer for a seventh season, in the league alone, he managed 35 goals, and that form has seen him strongly linked with LaLiga giants Barcelona.
It is reported that a fee in the range of €35-€40 million will be enough to get the services of the 33-year-old. Barca have financial issues to iron out before any deal could go ahead, as head coach Xavi pointed out on Saturday.
He has not spoken directly about Lewandowski to confirm Barca’s interest, but Xavi could use a prolific goalscorer if his team are to challenge Madrid for domestic silverware next season.
