The Namibia national football team performed a unique dance while entering the pitch, ahead of their Round of 16 encounter against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Bouake, Ivory Coast. The viral video gained a lot of attention from football fans worldwide.

The southern African nation surprised at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, reaching the AFCON knockout stages for the first time. Despite starting at 115th place in the FIFA rankings and facing tough opponents like Mali, South Africa, and Tunisia, Namibia’s football team exceeded expectations by defeating Tunisia, securing a historic spot in the Round of 16.

Before their pivotal knockout match against Angola, the players were observed joyfully dancing and singing as they made their way to the training session. Exiting the tunnel at Stade Bouake stadium, the Namibian players sang in harmony, uplifting team morale significantly. The Namibian national side has already exceeded the expectations of fans and African football enthusiasts.

Angola secured a victory with a dominant 3-0 scoreline and will face whoever emerges victorious from the West African derby that will take place between heavyweights, Cameroon and Nigeria at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The Namibian national team lost their Round of 16 match against Group D winners Angola in the first knock-out match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The match brought to an end Namibia’s dream AFCON campaign, while Angola made it through to the next round of the competition.

The Namibian national team are appearing in the competition for the very fourth time, and have successfully made it to the knock-out stages despite being one of the lowest-ranked sides. The team does not possess the likes of top players who spend their time in Europe, but comprises local homegrown talents, under the leadership of manager Collin Benjamin.

Angola on the other hand have won their group, edging past Mauritania, Burkina Faso and north-African giants, Algeria.
