Chelsea’s trip to Germany to play Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 had been a letdown. They were not clinical and squandered their opportunities.

On the counterattack, 21-year-old Karim Adeyemi scored a stunning goal for the German giants. After spending so much money on transfers in January, Chelsea lacks efficiency. Due to a handball, Thiago Silva’s goal was disallowed, and he was immediately given a yellow card. For Dortmund, Gregor Kobel stood out because he made critical vital stops and stopped Enzo Fernandes in the game’s last minutes. Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, excelled in the middle. Chelsea has now lost four straight games.

Chelsea is having a horrible season, currently sitting in 10th position in the Premier League, 10 points below the top four. They are likely to be knocked from the Champions League, but they will strive to exceed them in the rematch next month at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans were disappointed following their defeat to Dortmund. After a disastrous season, fans can only hope that they would win the Champions League after being eliminated from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Joao Félix has not performed well for Chelsea, while Kai Havertz cannot take advantage of his opportunities up top. Chelsea will now concentrate on their Saturday matchup with Southampton. Given that the Saints are having a poor season and are in the relegation zone, Chelsea may easily win this game.
